FLYER TEST
With every chalk marker there's also a flyer with a freebie window drawing. I had them printed recently, so of course I had to test it.
PICTURE FRAME / PAINTING
I created an inspiration tutorial about this earlier, but thought it also belonged in the list. Fun as a gift for for example a baby shower or the holidays. To make sure the drawing stays nice a long time, draw on the other side of the glass (mirrored!) and put it back in the frame. Insert a colored piece of paper, a photo, patterned paper or if it's nice the back of the frame.

CHRISTMAS CANDLES LIGHT
We all know them and around December they appear in everyones windows. I remember as a kid when we were traveling, we'd count them and whoever had the most, would win. Do you like them too (and make you nostalgic), but don't feel like buying one? You can get this freebie in de Window drawing shop.

BOTTLE / JAR / VASE
On Facebook I received the 'complaint' that they were running out of windows, so I'm going to help you and will blog every Friday about places where you can also use the window drawing designs besides windows. I'll continue until I run out of ideas.
Because, if it's transparent and you can reach the front and back, you can draw on it! These tips also apply if you don't want to use a printable, but draw freehand.

SPIROGRAPH
Remember this for way back when? Plastic rings, (scented) pens in happy colors and start turning. No skills needed, just a steady hand. It didn't really matter what you made, it all looks awesome. Feel like a blast from the past, but with a twist? You can get this freebie in the Window drawing shop.

THE BIG DRAW
I heard about this last year, but this year.. now that I have a window drawing shop, I take notice. Have you ever heard of The Big Draw Various creatives (from different skill areas) get a chalk marker and decorate the city with fun window drawings. I believe there's also a route you can walk.
As someone who lives in Heerlen I saw this one IRL (so fun to discover new ones time and again!), but I also follow the one in Maastricht on Instagram and they created awesome things too!

SCRATCH / CORRECT
Scratching a window drawing
disclaimer: it’s hard to draw + film! So it isn’t as neatly as I’d like to be, but you get the idea.
> wait until the drawing is completely dry.
> take a cotton swab (one side cut off) and scratch in the drawing.
> turn the cotton swab around and swipe over the scratched area.
> as you can see, it doesn’t have to be that neatly.
> but make sure you’re not too close to the edge (like I did, oops!).
> voila, happy (window)drawing!
EDIT
Sometimes the chalk paint is too fluid or you make a mistake while drawing. Use a cotton swab to edit your drawing. You can also do it when the drawing is done, just make the cotton swab wet before you swipe. Is the drawing in various colors? Use one cotton swab for every color to avoid mixing.
DRIED OUT CHALK MARKER
Did your chalk marker dry out?
> gently tip it in some water.
> shake away excess water.
> press point until chalk comes out.
> repeat if it’s still too watery.
PICTURE FRAMES
Besides doodling on pictures, it's also fun to use a 'normal' picture frame! Here you can see how plus some inspiration and handy tips.
